The Tiny Back Forty hosts Chris "Sandman" Sand

Tiny Back Forty, Olympia, WA

Chris “Sandman” Sand is returning to Olympia for a house concert at the Tiny Back 40 venue. Music will be from 6pm-9ish on 8/24.

Sand, a former Olympian, has been missing his old haunting grounds. His last Olympia show, after all, was pre-pandemic. When he learned that the Track House (a beloved previous residence of his) burned down last March, he decided it was past due time to get back for a visit and show before anything else burned down.

The Tiny Back Forty—Michelle Petersons’ backyard—is located near Olympia High School, a mile from downtown. Her address will be disclosed when you purchase tickets or commit to coming. If you drive, please pull around back to help with neighborhood dynamics. There is ample parking behind her house and in a nearby parking lot.

There will be some seating—Michelle has 22 chairs—but consider bringing your own chair or blanket. If you haven’t bought tickets, you may pay at the door.

Michelle feels confident that this will be a good time. Cowpokes, witches, hobos, drifters, headbangers, ferry captains, stoners, ancient queens and children are more than welcome. Come as you are.

Bio: Chris Sand (AKA “Sandman The Rappin’ Cowboy”) has traversed the blue highways and gravel backroads of the USA for over two decades, performing his unique blend of folk, punk, hip-hop, and cowboy music in basements, living rooms, barns, performance halls, and lawns along the way. Dubbed by Punk Planet in 2004 as “our Troubadour for the 21st Century,” Sand continues his ride with a brand new 2023 children’s album, MAGIC BEANS: 16 Songs for Sprouting Children & Other Human Beans.
